Outpost 2 Demo README April 10, 1997 ___________________________________________ TO ORDER: Please call Sierra On-line sales support at 1-800-757-7707 ___________________________________________ TABLE OF CONTENTS I] MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS II] HOW TO START THE DEMO III] HOW TO PLAY THE DEMO IV] HOW TO UNINSTALL THE DEMO I] MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS =========================================== * Windows 95/NT 4.0 or higher * IBM PC-compatible with Pentium processor or better * 16 MB of RAM * 50 MB of hard disk space; an additional 15 MB of hard disk space is needed during the Setup process. * 2x CD-ROM drive * Local bus SVGA card * Windows 95 compatible sound card * Mouse * You may wish to install DirectX 3, if it is not already installed. DirectSound is required for sounds; also, you will need DirectDraw to display the the game, if your machine is not running in 16-bit color. Furthermore, without DirectPlay, you will only be able to play multiplayer games using Sierra's Outpost 2 server via the Internet. II] HOW TO START THE DEMO =========================================== To start the demo, choose "Start" from the Windows 95 task bar. Then select Programs. Then select Dynamix. Then select Outpost 2 Demo. A menu will appear, giving you the option of playing 1 of 2 single-player scenarios, or starting or joining a multiplayer game, or viewing the online manual, viewing the preview AVI, or quitting. Click on the option of your choice. III] HOW TO PLAY THE DEMO =========================================== Consult the online manual for information on how to play. You may view the online manual in one of the following ways: * By selecting "Online Manual" when the demo menu appears after starting the game * By pressing F1 during the game * By double-clicking the O2_IG.HLP icon in the directory where the game was installed with Explorer III] HOW TO UNINSTALL THE DEMO =========================================== To uninstall the demo, select Start from the Windows 95 Task Bar, then select Settings, then Control Panel, then Add/ Remove Programs. A dialog box will appear. Select "Outpost 2 Demo" from the list and click on "Add/Remove...". A confirmation dialog box will appear, click on "OK" to remove the demo from your hard disk. Note: If you have installed the demo more than once, the Dynamix folder and the Outpost 2 Demo icon may not be removed from the task bar program folder. You can remove this yourself: Select Start from the Windows 95 Task Bar, then select Settings, then select Task Bar. A dialog box will appear. Click on Start Menu Programs tab, click on Remove button, the expand the Dynamix folder. If Outpost 2 Demo is the only thing in this folder, you can click on the Dynamix folder and click on the Remove button. ----------------------------------------- SIERRA ON-LINE, INC.
